The results are for a soldered SAMPA on PCCA board. -------------------------------------------------- Scale factor from ADC counts to electrons: 2.2 V range for 1023 ADC counts ~= 2.2 mV/ADC 1/1.6e-4 ~= 6250 electrons per fC 20 mV/fC was the setting used for these files => Conversion factor is then 2.2 (mV/ADC) * 6250 (electrons/fC) / 20 (mV/fC) ~= 680 electrons/ADC --------------------------------------------------- The measured noise is not only the chip noise, but includes contributions from the input protection diodes, and PCB traces etc. Average noise with pcca1 board (these files): 0 pF: 0.75 ADC noise ~= 510 electrons equivalent 18 pF: 1.1 ADC noise ~= 750 electrons equivalent Same noise values, within uncertainties, observed for 5 MHz and 10 MHz frequencies.
