All DAQ program files are in the tarfile: ilcdaq-sru-20190416.tar.gz NOTE: ~/ilc/ilcdaq/ below should be changed to where your installation is done. it needs a working directory for logfiles etc... Change in ilcserver.cfg: WDIR.PATH /home/jum/wdir/ilcdaq to the path for your preferred place of working directory. in the workdir must exist config-v10.1 with further paths in files.cfg. Please copy config-v10.1 from the tar-file to your workpath and modify the file files.cfg accordingly and create appropropriate directories as given in files.cfg. Currently only a software trigger exist, i.e. a command to the SRU and CPLD which is via the control path between the SRU and DAQ computer. The version of the readout program: v10.2 is the version where the DAQ program (readout-v10.1/ilcrorc-readout ) sends a ready over the network when it has read on event to the trigger generator program. The trigger generator program is: ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0$ ./swnettrig --loop (0=infinite) See in the code for other arguments. Note that in the programs in test-v10.0 there are hardcoded IP numbers: #define LOCAL_IP "192.168.4.11" #define SRU_IP "192.168.4.4" #define BC_IP "192.168.4.255" #define TCP_LISTENQ 10 #define SRU_INTERFACE "eth0" 198.168.4.x is the local internal network used. 192.168.4.4 can not be changed, hardcoded in SRU. It also use .5 for data transfer to the daq program. 192.168.4.11 is your local daq computer local internal network. One must start the DAQ server as: ~/ilc/ilcdaq/ilcserver-v10.2$ ./ilcserver this will also start the proper readout program (readout-v10.1/ilcrorc-readout). NOTE: ilcserver-v10.2 use readout v10.1 One must start the GUI for run control: ~/ilc/ilcdaq/gui-v10.0$ java DaqPanels See more about this program: http://www.hep.lu.se/eudet/daq/doc/gui-v2.8.pdf (there is a config file ilcdaq.txt, with port numbers and ip numbers, but I do not think you need to change anything there). In http://www.hep.lu.se/eudet/daq/doc/ are other documents as well, they are for the EUDET system but is mainly also valid for this system (though ALICE DDL soft/hardware is replaced with UDP). In the directory test-v10.0 are some programs to communicate with the SRU/CPLD/SALTRO for test purposes, e.g. . ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0$ ./altrodumpreg --fec 0 --chip 7 ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0$ ./mcmdumpregs --fec 0 ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0$ ./srudumpregs ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0$ ./sruwrrdreg --register 13 --write 0 ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0$ ./sruwrrdreg --register 12 --write 0 The raw data from the readout is written in binary format, in the directory workpath/data. To convert to root file format: ~/ilc/ilcdaq/monitor-v10.1$ ./mon-file.sh readout-_0.dat > slask-.out For this to work you need root-v5.34 installed. See in the Makefile and mon-file.sh for this and directories used. in the directory root are some root code to analyze the data, I have copied them to ~/wdir/ilcdaq/root: ~/wdir/ilcdaq/root$ ./root .x plotallped.cxx(65,21061,"nom") root used for analyses is v6-08-00 testscripts, main information is in: ~/ilc/ilcdaq/test-v10.0 testall.sh I use testall.sh is a guide, and execute the individual script from a terminal. Note the arguments and see in the other scripts referred to for information on how a test runs are done. Before a testrun is started must the system be initialized in the gui java DaqPanels. Power On -> PcaLoad -> Start DAQ -> Exit This must be redone if pedestal subtraction/zerosuppression mode is changed, since DaqStart do this initalization in the readout. See pictures gui-1.png, gui-2.png and gui-3.png. If using pedestal/zerosuppression must a pedestal file be edited with correct pedestal values (as taken when doing test with pedestals). Pedestal files are in config-v10.1 and which to use is descriped in the file test-v10.0/testall.sh You must tick pedestal and zerosuppression and then again do: Start DAQ -> Exit Note that the GUI may not be run while a testscritp is running, since they currently both use the same network port and run on the same computer for communication with the readout program. Each testscript use mon-file.sh mentioned above to convert raw data file to root file. Each testscript writes at the end which commands to execute in the root shell. Most of the scripts generate a .txt file with a list of root data files that is read by the root analysis scripts. See in the following textfiles for an example of a test round: ilcdaq-config.txt ilcdaq-gui.txt ilcdaq-ilcserver-head.txt ilcdaq-root.txt ilcdaq-test.txt These are dumps of what is done in the shells/terminals where commands are executed. To stop the ilcserver you must do control-c in that terminal window.
