Board meeting

§1

Formalities.

The agenda was approved.

Sten Hellman agreed to verify the minutes.

The minutes of the last meeting were approved.

§2

Information on ECFA/RECFA matters.

The visit of John Renner Hansen with the Swedish groups was postponed to January.

Gunnar Ingelman was nominated as ECFA delegate after Torbjörn Sjöstrand. Sten will report this to the ECFA secretariat.

§3

Partikeldagarna.

The date of Partikeldagarna was fixed to March 5, 6 (provided there is no collision with the inauguration of the new Ångström building). Richard Brenner, Ulf Danielsson and Gunnar Ingelman form the local organizing commitee, with Sten Hellman taking part on behalf of the rest of the community. The board advised that at least some speakers should be directly asked to give talks, rather than just asking everyone if they have something to present. Parallel sessions were not thought to be a good idea. Instead increasing the relevance of the meeting to theorists could be achieved by making experimental talks more accessible and informative for the theorists. The board decided to ask SFS for financial support to invite an external speaker.

SFS Board meeting November 11.

Sten is going to raise two issues on the meeting of the SFS board. 1) The support for an external speaker to Partikeldagarna. 2) The election procedure to the board.

The time of the next telephone meeting was planned to Tuesday December 19, 2000, at 11.00.
