Formalities

The agenda was approved by all present with the addition of an item to discuss the evaluation report on subatomic physics in Lund.

Leif Lönnblad was elected to take minutes.
Sten Hellman was appointed `justerare' for the meeting.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved by all present with the correction of the date in item 6 Next meeting.

§2

Fysikdagarna i Linköping

Richard has contacted Mick Storr who has agreed to come and talk about CERNs outreach activities towards highschool teachers. Sten will check that there is network access and a videoprojector in the auditorium.

Ulf Danielson will talk about modern particle theory. Torbjön Moa will talk about particle experiments. Ariel Goobar will be asked (by Sten) to give a talk on astro particle physics. If he declines we will ask Per Olov Hulth or Olga Botner.

The report from the evaluation of sub-atomic physics in Lund

We discussed the report and noted that particle physics in Lund seemes to be in good shape. We decided not to take any action at the moment, but noticed with concern that the only swedish group involved in DESY was given a low priority.

We discussed (rumors of) a possible increase in the cost of the construction of the LHC and its detectors.

Next meeting.
