Gästgiveri was initiated by the state in the middle of the 17th century.
They were setup to simplify travelling. There should be a gästgiveri
each 20km, providing lodging, food, and horses at fixed price. There are
not many left today, but the standard has improved. This is where our christmas lunch 2000 took place,
I hope everybody enjoyed it. |
After the dinner can one visit the church, it is one of the oldest remaining
churches in Scandinavia. Built around 1060 "by" the danish king Sven Estridsen.
There are some remains from the kings farm and a monestary outside the
church. The present look did it get around 1760.
This
picture show the interior of the church. A few of us considered it worth the effort to visit the church.

One do perhaps also need to have a walk afterwards, do this in one of the
two national parks in Skåne: Dalby
Söderskog, Dalby southforest (also called Dalby hage). The first
national park in Skåne, the other one is
Stenshuvud.
A third is planned at Skäralid on
Söderåsen.
None of us, to my knowledge, did give it a visit.
If
you instead had felt for a bath, then go to Dalby stenbrott (stone-quarry) at Knivsås, a few kilometers east of Dalby.
Here did one previously take stones, but nowadays is it a popular place
for taking a swim. Be aware, it is deep! Only enthusiasts take a bath at christmas time, the water temperature is
slightly higher during the summer. Nonenthusiasts can instead take a walk in the surroundings.
