A LUCAS account gives access to: * ownCloud cloud service (laptop backup and filesharing) * Indico conference management service * GRUB To request a LUCAS account contact [[:Florido Paganelli]] ====== Backup of laptops ====== Backup of laptops is done via the ownCloud cloud service. A [[#accounts | LUCAS account ]] is required to be able to access ownCloud. Then you need to install the ownCloud desktop app in order to access the service, it can be downloaded here: https://owncloud.com/desktop-app/ If your laptop was installed by me then the app should be already installed. For instructions on how to configure the backup please follow [[ it_services:fi:backuplaptopconf | this guide ]] ====== Backup of servers ====== Backup of servers is currently based on an old infrastructure whose future is not yet clear and under discussion at department level, hence we currently have limited capacity and serving mainly the already existing servers. If you wish to join the discussion for backups within Fysikum, please contact [[:Florido Paganelli]]. Otherwise, LDC provides server backup as well.
