J/$ \Psi$ Suppression

The J/$ \Psi$ particle is a bound state of a charm and an anti-charm quark ($ c\bar{c}$). It is believed that the production of this resonance will be suppressed in a QGP [11], where the $ c\bar{c}$ pair is separated due to Debye screening of the color charges. When the plasma hadronizes the separated quarks will likely combine with other quarks to open charm rather than J/$ \Psi$.

Measurements of this type have to include the fact that a suppression is possible also due to absorption in a dense hadronic medium.
