After the discovery and a few years of precision measurement of the
Z0 peak, the Large Electron and Positron(LEP) collider at CERN underwent an upgrade in 1996. The collision energy was increased from 45 to 86 GeV to be able to explore new high energy regions and new physics. During the coming years the machine will be pushed even harder, to reach the goal of 100 GeV. On top of this LEP has tried various bunch configurations, where the beam bunches are split up into several so called minibunches to allow higher luminosity.
Naturally these changes in collision energy and beam conditions, had a deep impact on the detector response of the various detectors at the four experiments. This report will describe how the VSAT detector at the DELPHI experiment was influenced by these changes. Hardware and software solutions for the new beam and background conditions are presented summarizing the four reports of appendix A-D.
